Did you know that Myrrh is a powerful antiseptic, second only to Echinacea; or that as a disinfectant, myrrh sanitizes almost anything with which it makes contact?  As an aid to a myriad of health ailments from bronchitis to cancer, the many incantations of myrrh have been revered since biblical times, once worth more than its weight in gold!

Initially drawn to the lovely amber color, the sheen of light off its velveteen texture & the gentle scent that wafts elusively about, I soon realized the benefits of myrrh far exceed such aesthetic qualities, imparting its value as a cultural, medical & spiritual resource throughout history.

My latest designs use hand-rolled myrrh beads, which provide a vanilla-spice scent that always reminds me of chai tea.  So delicate that some clients cannot detect it, I find the myrrh to be a very personal fragrance, more apparent to the individual wearing it than to those around you.  The natural scent is enhanced as the skin warms and can be strengthened by massaging an essential oil into the beaded strand. 

Traditionally known as a magical herb, burned to purify and protect, I also find the spiritual aspects of myrrh to be positively compelling.  In the gritty streets of New York City, a fragrant force-field of good health & energy is always welcome!
